ML-6000 Partition lost

Hi, Thanks for reading this post. I have a strange one! I know setting up a new library takes a little configuration but surely its not rocket science.

The trouble I have is that I haven’t been able to get my LTO3 SCSI driver into a ready state, they just appear to have a solid blue light on the back.

I’ve tried reseating the drives and they have been flashing blue every 10 seconds and then they both go solid blue and appear not-ready in the library.

We have tried power cycling the library and it didn’t make any difference, so I reverted to factory settings and now I lost my partition and can’t setup a new one.

It’s says no libraries exist and I can’t see the drives anymore.

I’m working remotely and have to instruct other engineer what to do, Any Ideas?

You can leave a reply here or on DELL’s website

Solution: The fault was with the tape drives, you can’t create a partition in the Library without a valid control path the is set to a tape drive. The blue light on the rear of these LTO3 drives should blink every 10 seconds, our remained on permanently indicating drive maintenance  or rejection by the library itself.
