After years of Xen products introduced in 2008 which replaced the traditional presentation server and MetaFrame. Citrix have decided to come up with simple names for their products. It appears this is because Citrix want customers to use their own cloud offering and it makes marketing simple. There doesn’t appear to be much thought gone into this reimage of products with XenServer now call Citrix Hypervisor and Receiver called WorkSpace App.
It may be sometime before Citrix Engineers start using these names.
